Thanks again for your informative and insightful article.
I have a question concerning the university system that might interest readers. You mention that those "there are students who rarely come to class, or those who are given special permission to be absent, who pass the exam after an independent study of the bibliography".
As you know I live in Grenoble and work full time, but would like to do the Anglophone masters programme at the university. Would it be realistic for me to conduct an independent study of the bibliography without attending classes at all (or at least a bare minimum)?
You mention exams. When do they take place and what do they entail? Do you know what they count for in comparison to the dissertation in terms of a final grade?
Thanks,
James

Hi Karen,

Thanks again for your informative and insightful article.<br
